Expanding Into Latin America? Globo Can Help

Latin America offers a major market to global mediatech companies. The population is young, digital, and connected: there are approximately 440 million mobile users across the region. Smart phone use is growing and the pandemic catapulted e-commerce to an all-time high.

But expanding into a new market can be challenging. Companies may not know the most effective ways to reach their target audience. An established regional partner with deep cultural and community roots can help companies access potential customers on the emerging and legacy channels they know and love. In Latin America, that partner is Globo.

Globo is Latin America’s largest media group and reaches 100 million daily users across the region. With Globo’s Partner Program, global mediatech companies can access that market.

“Latin America provides an ideal environment to develop and test new digital products and solutions,” explained Carlos Moreira Jr., Director of Global Media Ecosystem & Partnerships (E&P) at Globo and head of the Globo Partner Program. “We’re helping founders and VCs understand the size of the opportunity.”

Globo reaches audiences via both its legacy media network and emerging platforms.

“We’re putting technology to work in a scaled market, creating new businesses and sustainable revenue streams for our partners,” Moreira said. “Our early integrations with start-ups have been very encouraging.”

The Partner Program worked with over 100 organizations as it operated in stealth mode this past year. It helped short video platform Firework significantly increase its LatAm user reach and traffic. It tested shoppable video at scale in partnership with TheTake. It assisted AI-powered company nFlux as it pivoted to advertising. It’s also collaborating with start-ups like Palantir and Clash and venture capital firms including Samsung VC, Disney Accelerator, Mindset Ventures, and Stanford Reaction.

“Our goal is to establish long-term partnerships that could encompass revenue sharing, co-developments, joint ventures, or direct investments,” Moreira told Variety.

Whether you’re a start-up seeking distribution opportunities, a VC with portfolio companies that could benefit from expanding into LatAm, or an established company working to reach new markets, Globo can help. You can learn more and get in touch with the Partner Program here.
